Meet Lindsey

What is your title?
Art Director
How long have you been with Hodes?
1.5 years
What’s a typical day like for you?
I work in the external marketing department of Hodes. We’re in charge of the Hodes brand. And on a typical day I am producing national marketing materials like print ads and brochures, or developing new interactive content for hodes.com. I work in a small team and it’s very casual. We have a lot of fun while we work. As the Art Director I need to walk the fine line of visually evolving our brand image while making sure we are consistent. (I also get to yell at other creative departments for not using our branding materials correctly from time to time. - jk!)
What path led you to Hodes and your current role?
Before I came to Hodes I worked at a small advertising shop out in St. Louis as an art director working with B2B and recruitment clients. The niche field of recruitment advertising interested me since it is just now coming into its own as a legitimate creative niche within advertising and the need for talent is ever increasing as the baby boomers enter retirement age. When I moved to New York I sought out Hodes as a leader in this industry.
What surprised you most about working at Hodes?
How much fun I had playing on the Hodes softball team over the summer. It was a great way to meet other advertising professionals and get to know my new co-workers better.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
I’m very handy. My husband and I bought a 100-year-old Victorian home that we’re slowly updating/restoring room by room. Measure twice, cut once!
