Meet Romona

What is your title?
Account Director
How long have you been with Hodes?
Almost 3.5 years.
What’s a typical day like for you?
I handle the day to day account service activities of one of the largest healthcare systems in the nation, as well as a few other healthcare, retail, pharmaceutical and chemical accounts. I coordinate the flow of an ad from start to finish by working with other groups such as copy writing, design, and production. I also keep track of the client’s budget and advertising expenditures, as well as performance of digital advertisements that are on the web. Lastly, I try to stay in touch with clients to make sure that they are receiving the best possible service from Hodes.
What path led you to Hodes and your current role?
I’ve pretty much been on track with the recruitment advertising career ladder ever since I came out of college in 1999 with a Marketing degree. I never even knew there was such a thing as recruitment advertising. I started at a small ad agency, then moved to a large one where I learned more mainly through the resources they offered. I was then laid off and went back to a smaller agency where I grew professionally in terms of responsibilities and then came to Hodes because it had a better opportunity to move along or across verticals and because I felt that I was outgrowing my last company. At Hodes I’ve been working with mainly the same clients since starting, but in 2008 I was asked to also handle accounts for our Long Island branch. So suffice it to say, it’s never boring here.
What surprised you most about working at Hodes?
The integrity and professionalism of the people, as well as the vast resources for learning.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
I’m heavily involved with my church. On Wednesdays I teach 3rd-5th grade girls and on Thursdays I rehearse for the choir. Weekends can get quite busy at times but whenever I get the chance I love to drive and enjoy the beauty of where I live or just hang out with friends or family.
